The PINO CARGO: You can pack your bags!

The PINO CARGO from HASE BIKES shows that you can do without a car. It offers couples and young families exceptionally good bicycle mobility. Alone. As a couple. With a child.

Many couples and young families want a cargo bike. But as practical as the rolling crates may be, they are severely limited in their area of use. "The PINO CARGO is different," says Kirsten Hase, Head of Marketing at HASE BIKES. "It's a kind of universal genius, a complete bicycle mobility concept in one bike."

Kirsten Hase is the first to admit that it's not easy to summarise the PINO and its many possible uses at a glance: "It's a cargo bike, but also a children's taxi that grows with the child. It can be a tandem or solo bike, as well as a city bike, touring bike and even a rehab bike. In short: the PINO is like a whole fleet of vehicles in just one bike."

Cargo without compromise

Whether it's the weekly shop, a bike tour or a trip to the DIY store: the PINO CARGO is fully equipped for transporting a wide variety of items. The front PORTER BAG transports 40 kg of load with up to 120 litres of storage volume. At the bottom centre, the folding PORTER RACK carries bulky and heavy items weighing up to 40 kg. There is space for a child seat or low-mounted panniers on the rear of the carrier. The bike is stable, even when fully loaded, thanks to the forged two-legged kickstand specially developed by HASE BIKES. With the Shimano EP8, the PINO CARGO has a powerful electric motor. With its help, even heavy loads can be lifted, even if the muscles are tired or the inclines are steep.

Telescopic frame

The frame of the PINO is telescopic - you can make it shorter by simply pushing it together. The front frame slides smoothly into the main frame, the wheels stay safely on track and the oily chain is picked up by the quick frame adjustment. Kirsten Hase: "If you are travelling alone, you can also ride the PINO with the frame pushed in. The wheelbase then corresponds roughly to that of a city bike. Riding behaviour and cornering radii are also roughly the same." Particularly practical: shortened in this way, the PINO can be parked in the hallway or basement to save space. With the handlebars folded down, it even becomes so small that it fits on any standard car rear carrier.

Cargo bike with a tandem past

The development of the PINO is closely linked to the Hase family. When it first went into series production 30 years ago, it was simply an extraordinary tandem. Then Kirsten and Marec Hase's sons grew too big for the child seat, and the child pedal storage system for the front seat was created. Since then, the PINO has continuously grown with the requirements and has been reinvented time and again. "Many improvements and a large proportion of the accessories are also based on specific customer requirements," reports Kirsten Hase. "Especially in the rehab sector, where hand drives, belt systems, special pedals and other accessories make it possible to ride a bike in the first place."
