The more a recumbent trike needs to be transported, the more a foldable model is recommended. There are different degrees of simplicity when folding. If the folded bike is to be very small, the effort required is correspondingly higher. A distinction can be made between fast and compact folding.

It's good if you know the dimensions of your boot. We provide information about these at the end of the list.

The Scorpion fs 26 can be reduced to a space-saving pack size of 123 × 83 × 62 cm in just a few simple steps. If the wheels are also removed, the dimensions are further reduced to a compact 93 × 74 × 54 cm. The Scorpion fs 26 can be folded without removing the wheels, even with the pannier rack and mudguards fitted.

Gekko fx 20
The Gekko fx20 also has a very small folding size. With a little practice, you can fold it up to a compact 83 × 52 × 82 cm in ten seconds.
All components remain firmly attached to the bike! This is different from folding tricycles, where the seat or pannier rack must first be removed in order to transport it separately. This is made possible by the patented Dual Flat Fold (D.F.F.) folding system from HP VELOTECHNIK, which only requires two quick-release levers

Car boot dimensions

An ADAC study on the boot volumes of various car manufacturers could have been entitled: "Don't trust a big car!" The larger the vehicles, the greater the difference between claim and reality. Nevertheless, the larger the car, the less problematic it will be to stow a folded recumbent trike in it.

The car models and types are numerous and the boot volumes are correspondingly large. The dimensions of a good selection of models can be found in the ADAC study.
